this world is full of winners and losers. winners get glory, losers go home empty handed.

so where do all the mediocre people (like me) fall into? am i bounded to fate to do nothing with my life? will the desire to succeed make me a winner? or will it crush me if i do not after putting in so much effort?

... i'm not liking college at all anymore.

well, monday was quite exciting, becuase i woke up to hear some really loud rain. not really new, but then the whole room flashed like REALLY bright white. and then the fire alarm in the whole building went off. it appears that my apt. section got hit by lightning, and it also fried my internet connection for two days.

but then yesterday, i woke up to hear rain, and then lightning hit another building, and their fire alarm go off. i just kinda snickered, rolled over, and went back to sleep. :D

hmm, for those of you that wish to know, i'm taking 14 credit hours. calc 1, comp sci 2, us history up to reconstruction, arts and preformance appreciation, and a mandatory rhetoric class. i can already tell that some of thses i will never use.

and why is it that every single girl that i come across on this freakin' campus already has a boyfriend?!?! =/

man, today (or yesterday if you wish to be techincal) was freakin awesome.

first, my cell phone finally works! yea!~ so now people can call me, and i can call you. ^_^ after that, just went to cyberzone and hung out with everybody. got to meet more dallas people and see tim and leonard again. then, we went to genroku for some good chinese eating. funny stuff happened. much comedy insued. then we went to the magnolia and watched my wife is a gangster, which is a BAD ASS movie! :D

that's just a brief summary of what happened today. but today kinda made a point to me: i'm gonna like it in dallas.

next week: ATTACK THE GAS STATION! :D

ugh. social life here at UTD completely sucks. it's so high school all over again. i didn't like the high school social system, and i'm already starting to hate the one at the freshmen dorms.

yeah, there are still guys/girls who have their hormones in overdrive swimming around in skimpy outfits. at 9:50 PM. with no pool lights. and it's all the, as we would say at franklin, "preps with connections."

and the others, like me, just go out with other people outside the school, because frankly, most of the people here suck. i've met a few cool people, but the rest are just kinda like "uh, and you want to talk to me why?"

and besides, i liked hanging out with daniel (aka shin k) today. valley view cyberzone has it's merits, but i think i'll stick to RSM thank you very much.

oh about my day. um, when to my calc class, and thanked my good judgement to retake calc I instead of going to calc II, because the stuff he went over today made NO sense whatsoever. so, tomorrow, calc review class. i am so there. i met a nice girl while hanging out outside of calc before class started, but she has a boyfriend, so i don't think i'll try that. but she was cool, we chatted a bit in calc class. kept me sane. and my rhetoric class is SO POINTLESS. >< but i did meet another person from el paso, and suprise suprise, his name is ryan. he's a junior at UTD, and is the teaching assistant. but it was cool none the less to talk to him.

wow, the past couple of days have just flown right past me, time for yet another recap!

tuesday

well, my flight was leaving el paso at 8:00 in the morning, so i wanted to be at the airport around 7:20, just incase anything went wrong. i was ready, but my mom wasn't, and i almost missed my flight >< it was like 8:10 when we got on, because the ground crew held the plane for us. . . i felt kinda bad when i walked onto the plane and having all the people just stare me down. well, after the hour and half flight, i move in, and my mom is already complaining.

"why is the campus so far away?"
"why didn't you get a south-facing room?"
"why can't your roommates fend for themselves?"

and the such. i did get a lot of shopping done, and now my room is more like -my- room. that makes me happy. went and got a cell phone, but as i left the store, i realized the phone doesn't work too well, but decided to get it fixed on wednesday. i slept, and stuff.

wednesday

woke up at 6:00 to see my mom off, and went back to sleep. woke up again at 1:30 PM (which is weird, because i can -never- do that), then went with one of my roommates to the mall to see if i can get my cell phone fixed. turns out, that i'm like 1 in a million, and they couldn't fix me that day. so, after wasting 3 hours trying to get my cell phone up, i went shopping for text books (which came out to $500!) and more stuff for the room. slept again.

thursday

well, i woke up nice and early so that i could make it to my first class of my college career (Arts and Preformance), but i wanted to make sure that my class was still in the same place, so i went to a computer lab to check out the classes and stuff. turns out that i needed to pick up a comet card in order to do that. so, i go and get my comet card. after doing that, and going to check my courses, i discovered that i was late for the class. >< so, i decided to skip and finish up the stuff i needed to do for school. got the internet up for my laptop *finally* and got myself registered and all that good stuff. went to history to only sit in there for about an hour and get released (instead of the usual hour and a half).

well, now, you are up to date. yes, i am alive. hopefully, this wireless internet will work in my room, so i'll be online later.

well, this is it. i've packed up everything that i could possibly need. i'm getting myself out of this city.

but when i went by my old high school today, it hit me. although i may not like the city i was raised in, or maybe wish to forget my past, it does make me who i am. i can change my appearence, i can change my name. but i cannot change what made me who i am. el paso is where i am from. el paso is what made me who i am. now that i leave it for greener pastures, it makes me sad to think what i leave behind.

. . . feel like crying now. kinda like a happy cry, that i made it, but at the same time, knowing that leaving this city is somewhat turning away from it. i'm gonna miss everything about the city. dry heat, chico's tacos, sonic with extra blue ocea water, and most importantly, my friends and family.

i'll post about moving in, if i can get my internet connection working tomorrow.

wow, this last week just flew right past me. many fun events occured. let's recap, shall we?

sunday
i fly into dallas love field at around 4:30, and while i was trying to get my luggage, zack calls my cell phone even though he is 5 feet away from me. we pile into the prelude, go to cyberzone and play a little beatmania iidx 4th style and the such. cool stuff. we then go to his house, and i meet the family. we then go to chipotle for dinner (awesome stuff), and we just sit around and do nothing until midnight.

monday
woke up to go to day 1 of orientation. did a lot of listening to the orientation team and other people talk about just background info of the school. ran into joe, denise, and jill and went out with them to lunch. . . kinda missed some of the skits/small group time because of it (oops). got a lot of help from jill on my class setup. went to richardson square mall, and played some more iidx until zack got off of work. we then go to a chinese resturant that was freakin' good. and then, slept.

tuesday
today is the day that i only had to show up for a few hours. the academic advisors wouldn't let me take the class setup that jill helped me on, so i kinda patched together another one on my own. after failing to be able to move into my room, i go to play some more iidx (heh, i spent a lot of time playing iidx...i love that game) and stuff. being half price tuesday, i got to meet a lot of prominent ddr/iidx players including kevin (who looks/sounds me according to everybody else) and the awesome SHIN K. we all go eat at denny's after we kept cyberzone open till 10:00 (when they usually close at 9:00).

next three days
well, boarded on a bus to head to comet camp (yea!). did a lot of planned activities and stuff, and got to meet a lot of new people. it was quite cool. yeah, that's those three days. got back into dallas at 11:00 AM on friday, moved into my room, tried to buy my textbooks (but lacked the money to buy the calc book), went to cyber zone, got to airport, and flew back.

there you go. now, i'm tired. i'm gonna hang out online for a little, then sleep.

and so, it now begins. with my bags packed, hopes up, and a little cash, i will board my plane for dallas today. well, i'm coming back this weekend to get the rest of my stuff, but still, the thought. so yeah, no bloggin' for the next week.

today is just one of those days that really makes me glad that i'm moving. moving away from -everything- that i have in my life. moving away from the frustration of being so easily brought on by closed-minded people that surround me. moving away from parents who don't give a crap about what is good for me, but what they think is good for me. moving away from the people that want to take the little that i fought for.

so it turns out my family is moving out to los angeles around christmas break. for a normal family, that would be cool. "oh sheit! i get to play bemani!" but the reason that my mom is moving to cali is to get away. from me. she is already paying my sisters way through a private, out of state college while i worked for my scholarship into UTD, thus not going to UT Austin and digging myself into debt. she bought my sister a friggin car, even though i have a better driving record than her. and everything that goes wrong can be blamed on me. so, yes, in 2 days, i become an outcast. thrown out of the home. disowned by my mom, in her belief that my older sister will bring redemption to the family through fame and fortune while i can be shunned aside.

i will prove everybody wrong. i will succeed. i'm gonna win this game of life.

at work, i do data entry. simply, just putting in all the chart stuff into a program called MediSoft to help accounting and stuff at the clinic. well, today, i was told that i can't change cases b/c that will knock off payments, ect. my problem is that i have entered hundreds of charts, and almost 1/3 of those, i did the wrong way. so yeah, i completely messed up my job. i think i set them back rather then help them any this summer.

oh and had a messed up dream last night to. i got to meet morning musume and stuff with spence after they did a concert, and like mari kicked me in the nuts. then i woke up.

hmm...nice 6 hour blackout we had today, huh?

for those of you that were lucky enough to escape it, a power line short circuited between new mexico and el paso, thus cutting the whole city off of power. some parts got back up in 45 mins...my house didn't get back up until about 3:00, i think? anways, i was at work, doing data entry like i usually do when the power went out. the clinic doesn't have a backup generator (because we are a small clinic), so, we just closed up for the day. none of the lights worked, and all businesses went into lockdown. i couldn't get into sunland park mall for 2 hours to play some ddr because they didn't want people shoplifting the whole mall while the power was out. same with walgreens, walmart, target, ect. too many people from mexico came over just for tax free weekend, so cielo vista mall was on the brink of a riot. and then, there was a huge as storm that came through the city. so yeah, not a good day today to live in el paso.
